Keeping a Tarot Journal

Hello there Tarot Enthusiasts!

Let's talk about keeping a tarot journal!

This page contains affiliate links, which means I get a small percentage of the sale at no cost to you!

First of all, every single tarot journal will probably look different.  Even if you were to purchase my premade journal to print out, you'd probably have different sets of the pages than everyone else.  You'd also probably decorate it differently (if at all).  And you're info would definitely be different than anyone else's, too.

Why?

Because the tarot is different for every single person.

Every single card meaning will be of your own creation, and depending on the day, the cards themselves will have different meanings for you at different times.  So rather than using your journal as an in depth study of the cards (which is *NOT* needed), I prefer to teach others that their journals should be about honoring the cards and the decks we love.  I see tarot journals as a fun place to explore thoughts and ideas, with no strict "how-to" or "what-for".  Not that your journal will be a mess (unless you like messy!), but more so it will be an exploration of how much fun and interactive tarot can be!

What You Can Store in Your Tarot Journal

There are unlimited things you can put inside your tarot journal, but here are a few ideas:

  • Lists (fav decks, song lists, fav cards, etc.)
  • Sketches
  • Readings
  • Layout ideas
  • Journal Prompts
  • Notes taken from tarot books (get my note taking printable here!)
  • Ideas
  • Metaphysical stuff (if you're into that sort of thing)
  • Your Tarot Journey
  • Daily draws (keep track of what you find out)
  • Write your own Fool's Journey (as in Around the Tarot in 78 Days.....you start with the fool and shuffle, then draw each major arcana card creating a story about what happens to the Fool)
  • Write Stories
  • Take notes on the cards themselves (compare, contrast, etc.)
  • Journal your readings
  • Dig into the dark cards
  • Turn it into an art journal (my tarot art journal prompts book is coming soon! eeekk!!)
  • etc.
You can turn your tarot journal into anything you want!  You can make it themed or just random.  You can have it be decorated or plain.  You can have it in a bound journal or in a binder.  The sky is the limit!!

There is no right or wrong way to make a tarot journal.  It should be as unique as you are 💗

I am in the middle of revamping my tarot journal at the moment, but when I do get it done, I will share it here!  But if you have one, please feel free to share links to the pics below!  I'd love to see what you've made!!
