Ten of Wands

I am here to remind you that taking on too much responsibility can lead to burnout.  Sometimes you have to just say no, and let others do the heavy lifting for a change.

How do you tell someone no without feeling guilty?

1. You honor their request by saying something positive (which is a type of yes)
2. You set your firm boundary (which is your no)
3. You suggest an alternative solution to their request (ending on a yes)

Example: "I really wish I could, but I am going to have to politely decline, but maybe so and so can help you out?"

Stick to your guns and don't let the person talk you into something when you're already overwhelmed.  End the conversation early if you have to in order to do this if they are adamant.  Don't let others suck you into being the "yes" man/woman. Always saying yes to others is only to appease them.  Learn how to honor yourself, too.
